Discoverying God's Plan for our lives

Happy New Year 2012!!  Some of you may have new years resolutions, or goals you'd like to complete this year or in general want to know what a new year can bring.  Well, in discovering God's plan for our lives some believe in destiny or a pre determined path, or others who believe in God or a Higher power just live through faith.  Well the Bible says "faith without works is dead" (James 2:17) it's fine to believe God is in control, but we need to also be in control of our lives whether it's personal or professional improvements, or goals.  
Sometimes we are blessed with a vision or inspiration to do something, and we take off running like it's a race!  The key to success in anyting is the three Ps- patience, planning and prayer.  Don't get discouraged or impatient, otherwise you will create struggles. Believe He is arranging circumstances, people and opportunities.  Some suggestions I have is work on time management and goal planning.  Organize and make "to do" lists, set goals and then work towards them daily, weekly monthly and yearly.  Seek a mentor or talk to someone who has accomplished what you want, prepare yourself spiritually, mentally and educationally to begin the process.
Finally, follow your instincts, have confidence in yourself and decision making, believe God is behind the scenes working on His plan for you!
